Things to do:
1. Get with Athletic/Activities Director, or Sports
Information Director, and get a roster of your school's
baseball team.
2. Check out the PA System prior to game day and make
sure you understand how to use it.
3. Will you play music?
a. Will you provide the music?
1. on MP3 player
2. tape deck
3. computer
b. Does the school provide music?
4. Make sure that you will be able to play music (at
least for the National Anthem, if your school wants it)
5. Game day:
a. Get to baseball field early (45 min-1 Hr)
b. Check out the PA system
c. Get with coaches and get game day roster.
d. Get correct pronunciations of all players.
e. Complete the Baseball Line-up sheet (provided
below)
1. Enter position, number and name.
2. Throughout the inning, use hash marks to
keep track of hits and errors.
3. At the end of the inning put down total
running score.
f. Use a script. (sample script below)
g. Play music between innings.
Additional tips:
1. Try and remain somewhat neutral.
2. Don't yell when announcing home team.
3. Take your time.
4. Project your voice and speak clearly
5. Have fun! |
