Rob began his
public address announcing career in 1982 at Labette
Community College in Parsons, KS, for the wrestling program
there and the next year began announcing women's
basketball. Rob continues at Labette, announcing wrestling,
men and women's basketball, volleyball and baseball.
In 2009, Rob was
the named the winner of the prestigious National Association
of Sports Public Address Announcers - Junior College Public
Address Announcer of the Year.
Throughout Rob's
tenure as an announcer, he had always strived to be prepared
and professional when working any event, whether a wrestling
match or acting as an emcee, or announcing a basketball or
rodeos, Rob has strived to give his very best in his
announcing.
Rob has expanded
his announcing opportunities over the years to announcing
over 150 events in 2011. Some of the events Rob announces
for are sports at Parsons KS High School, including
football, basketball, wrestling and baseball, as well at
announcing the Prom walk-in ceremonies. Along with Parsons
HS and Labette, Rob is also the voice for Pittsburg State
University, volleyball and basketball.
Rob has also
been honored by being allowed to announce Regional, State
and National Events, including NCAA DII Football Playoffs,
NJCAA National Football Game, NJCAA National Track and
Field, NJCAA National Women's Basketball Tournament, NJCAA
Region VI Basketball, and
Kansas 4-A State Baseball.
Rob has not
forgotten his roots and does a great deal of volunteer
announcing including; Special Olympics Kansas State Games,
Parsons Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, Katy Days Festival, and the Gary J.
Daniels Sunbelt Rodeo, just to name a few. Rob believes it
is important to give back to the community and does so in a
variety of way, other than announcing, by being involved in
numerous civic and community organizations and activities.
